![]() Gladiator and Marauder are tanks and Conjurer is a healer. Those are Pugilist, Lancer, Thaumaturge, Archer, and Arcanist (though Arcanist can become either the DPS Summoner or the healer Scholar at level 30). It has an art book and art cards and a soundtrack and I think something else too, so you should consider it.Īs for classes, probably the easiest to learn on is a DPS class. However, if you can get your hands on a physical CE and you're the collector sort, it's probably worth it. The Fat Chocobo mount is the best part of it, but it's not worth that much. so if you wouldn't mind doing it, recruitment code! Īs for the collector's edition, I don't think the digital content is worth the $20 for the upgrade or the extra expense of buying the CE off the bat. However, if you do sign up after the trial with someone's recruitment code, we both get goodies once you start paying for your sub. You can do other stuff while you wait, but if this makes you nervous because of your time constraints, you might consider playing a tank or healer, since their queue times are much, MUCH faster (for lower-level content, usually instant).įrom the look of it, you do not need to be recruited. ![]() Usually it takes around half an hour to get into a dungeon. *Do note though that queue times to get into dungeons can be very long later on-and even early on if you're a DPS class. The short of it is that, while of course there's content for the hardcore grind-happy raiders, this is probably one of the most casual-friendly MMOs out there. And if you're not impatient to get to them, you can do the "grinding" in small quantities for a longer period of time to avoid getting burnt out (which is what I'm doing, totally directionless meandering XP). There's more grinding at endgame, but it's totally optional and depends on if you want to do the high-level raids or not. I had fun just exploring and doing whatever crossed my path. And getting to 50 on my first class, getting through the main story, never felt like a grind. I took 2, but I didn't play every day, and also I spent a lot of time getting lost in the world (in a good, intentional kind of way) and not doing my story quests. ![]() I actually think playing just a few hours would be more fun while you're going through the main story I think it's sad when people rush rush rush through 1–50 because they want to get to endgame, because the journey there is fun. There are a few spots in the story where you'll probably want to kill somebody (*cough*Wheiskat*cough*) because of the long string of pointless quests he sends you through, but for the most part the pacing is good and you don't have to burn through it all at once. How much I play is totally irregular and sporadic, but you can make good progress in 2-3 hours, especially at lower levels. It will suck away tons of time just because it's fun and addictive, rather than because it's a huge grind. ![]()
